Diana Darnell, the founder of Double D, has always had a love for horses and animals.  For years she followed many internet sites and Facebook pages for rescue animals in need.

At the age of 51, Diana rescued her first horse, a beautiful animal who was slaughter-bound. She has since rescued three more, two of which were also slaughter-bound.

Diana also helps families that have suffered a financial hardship and need help caring for their animals so they don't end up in shelters or feedlot auctions.

Shur Shot Equine Quarantine in Louisiana

Stacy and Lee Sistrunk and their children are devoted to their "foster babies" with all their hearts. They run their rescue, transport, and quarantine business treating every horse as their own. Each horse receives medical care, foot care, dental care (Lee is a certified horse dentist), proper nutrition, basic training, and lots of love.

Stacy says she "was born in love with horses" and has been a horsewoman her whole life. The entire family has been heavily involved in various rodeo competitions and as trainers.

The Sistrunks have been competing in Arabian horse shows with their award winning stallion "Farid al Jannat" (Reserve 2015 Egyptian event champion) and selective breeders for the past 15 years. After that show, God put them on a different path and they took on three emergency foster mares marking the beginning of their career in rescue and rehabilitative quarantine services. "I feel I have found my true purpose and passion in life.” Stronger words could not be said.

Stacy, Lee, and Macy are always willing to go to the Bastrop Kill Pen and check out a horse for you. They are true experts in horses and you can have faith in their honesty and opinions.
